WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 19, 2021)—Safe House Project, a non-profit organization and national leader in the fight against Domestic Sex Trafficking, announced RaeAnn Hancock as the newest member of the nonprofit’s Board of Directors.
“Ms. Hancock is an awe-inspiring leader who has the drive, passion, and business acumen needed to truly effect change in the anti-trafficking movement. Her breadth of experience in corporate leadership combined with her unwavering commitment to serving survivors of trafficking makes her a welcomed addition to our team,” said Joel English, Safe House Project’s Board Chairman.
Ms. Hancock is the Healthcare Consulting Lead for NTT DATA Services with more than 25 years of experience enabling transformation programs for Fortune Global 500 companies and large health and public service organizations. This board position is one of many steps to tap into the power of the corporate world to join forces to end domestic sex trafficking.
Ms. Hancock has supported the Safe House Project as a volunteer for more than two years and is currently the President of Safe House Project’s National Business Advisory Council, a corporate think-tank with representatives from Fortune 500 companies dedicated to creating and implementing innovative solutions on corporate engagement in the fight against trafficking.
“After unexpectedly witnessing the effects of human trafficking in my own community and overcoming the initial shock of discovering it in our country, I realized the potential we have as corporate America to be part of the solution to end child trafficking. Public and private partnerships are required to educate employees and citizens to spot, report and prevent child trafficking using the OnWatch training as well as a strong network of safe houses and community services. Although there are hundreds of thousands of victims of child sex trafficking in the U.S. alone, only 1% are identified. There are simply not enough safe houses to enable the rehabilitation of those identified, let alone those who have yet to be identified. Unfortunately, traffickers have taken advantage of the pandemic by exploiting the most vulnerable in the communities where we live and work. The latest COVID-19 impact report shows that we have a long road ahead. As a volunteer for the Safe House Project, the leadership team continues to be an inspiration to me as well as the many survivors they support. It is an honor and a privilege to join the Safe House Project board of directors,” said RaeAnn Hancock, Vice President, Healthcare Consulting, NTT DATA Services.
