For the Love of a Student: Dear Mrs. C

  Mrs. C,

I still have the first manuscript I ever wrote, a terrible crime thriller with your handwriting across the title page: “My future famous author.” Your belief in me taught me that I had worth beyond my body. I was good at something other than sex. There was something about me that could be successful.

I grew as a writer thanks to you believing in me. I went on to publish books. I went on to make the Top 100 in my genre on Amazon. I went on to have glowing reviews on my books, from people I had never met. I published in magazines and newsletters. And most importantly, I helped write a training that could prevent others like me from being trafficked.

All due to that little note on the front page of a horribly written fiction novel in the 7th grade. All due to you.

Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for not hesitating to tell me you believed in me. Thank you for seeing my worth and working to help me see it, too. You changed my life for the better.

Love love love,

Kenzie

Dear Teachers,

First of all, thank you. Your dedication to educating our children is an incredible service to our families, communities, and societies.

As educators, you have a front-row seat to your students’ lives, progress, achievements, and challenges. But being on the frontlines also means you are often the first to notice any red flags—including the signs of sex trafficking.

While you can probably tell when something isn’t quite right—a subtle change in behavior or appearance—that doesn’t always guarantee you know what that change means. You also may not know what next steps to take after noticing something concerning.

We hope to change that.

At OnWatch™, it is our mission to combat sex trafficking through education. And we can do so with our comprehensive and accessible digital training program. Combining true survivor experiences with industry expertise, OnWatch seeks to empower individuals to spot, report, and prevent sex trafficking in their communities.

And best of all, it’s completely free.

We recognize how essential of a role you play in the lives of our children and in our society. We also understand how overwhelming that much responsibility can be. That’s why we’ve created our new OnWatch Educators Portal. The new portal is a curated collection of modules from the OnWatch curriculum designed to empower teachers and educators when they notice a potential concern in their classrooms. Because we know that with this knowledge, you can make a powerful impact.

We invite you to join us in the fight against sex trafficking and to become OnWatch.
