Celebrating Every Step

Healing isn't linear, it is a journey--a complicated amalgamation of memories, emotions, people, and spaces. I know some days you feel like all you can do is stand, but I want to celebrate all the ways you are healing and becoming an incredible force for change.

Over the past few years, you have pushed against the thoughts in your mind that tell you you are not enough, the lies that were bred into you by your trafficker, and the mental barriers that kept you feel confined to the world they built up around you.

But with every passing year, month, day, moment you are choosing to renew your mind, to create new memories that fill you with joy, and build relationships with people who show you unconditional love and respect.

Healing is hard, healing takes time, but we are here to celebrate who you are today and all you will become.

We love you.

The Problem

Sex trafficking is the commercial sexual exploitation of an individual through force, fraud, or coercion. Any time a child is used for commercial sex, including prostitution or pornography, it is considered sex trafficking, regardless of whether there is evidence of force, fraud, or coercion.

  • Hundreds of thousands of individuals are trafficked every year in the United States.
  • 40% of trafficked children are sold by a family member
  • 99% are never identified.
  • Of the 1% who are identified, few receive care.
  • 80% of survivors end up being re-victimized if they do not have a safe place to go.

Why Safe House programs matter - a safe place to heal

"It's more than a house, it is a home."

"It’s our way of finding our own purpose."

"It’s our way of being able to have time to process who we are."

It's our way of finding freedom, peace, love, and most of all dignity."

- Kady
